Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for anAssociate Economiston a specified purpose contract for approximately two years in theInternational Finance Division.This role is aligned with theBank Executive grade and the BEX salary scale, between€37,208and €66,650applies. The purpose of the role is providing research and statistical assistance to Economists on the assigned team in order to contribute to the Banks goal of providing independent economic advice through undertaking substantive analysis and forecasting of developments in the relevant area of economics. Responsibilities: Provide statistical and econometric assistance to the economists on the assigned team in order to contribute to the empirical and theoretical analysis of economic developments. Prepare early stage analysis, literature searches and reviews on research topics for the assistance of the economists in the Division. Support high quality applied research of a publication standard in both internal (Economic Letters, Bulletin Articles and Research Technical Papers) and external (refereed domestic, EU and International journals) journals in order to increase the research profile of the Central Bank and to ensure stakeholders understanding of policy decisions/issues. Prepare publication quality tables and graphs for inclusion in the Research Technical papers and Economic Letters. Collect, compile and process economic data for research projects. Present on the research and analytical work of the Division to staff groups and external visitors in order to foster effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. Support colleagues participation at EU working groups in order to ensure that the Central Bank effectively participates at these fora Requirements: A Masters degree in Economics. 1 year relevant experience. Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to use advanced statistical and econometric techniques. Proven ability to display sound judgement and problem solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills are required to convey complex issues in a clear, concise and logical manner. Good interpersonal and team working skills. Good presentation skills in order to convey research findings.
