Job Description
Meta seeks a seasoned legal professional with deep understanding of evolving regulatory requirements in the technology industry. This role requires a strategic thinker to navigate regulatory standards, provide guidance on GRC functions, and mitigate risks associated with online activities and disinformation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on Meta's Compliance Office and Integrity GRC program, including governance, risk identification/treatment, and assurance functions.
- Support independent review of Meta's Compliance Office and Integrity GRC program, including engagements with auditors, regulators, and third parties.
- Provide guidance on oversight obligations of management bodies and boards overseeing compliance functions.
- Work with cross-functional partners to identify requirements, obligations, and best practices, and translate them into executable technical and operational controls.
- Analyze and advise on global legal requirements and support engagements with regulators and public policy makers on issues of online safety and disinformation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Solicitor or barrister (qualified to practice law in at least one European jurisdiction).
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience.
- In-depth knowledge of legal issues in the area of risk and compliance in one or more highly regulated industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience supporting risk and compliance programs.
- Experience with global laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, related to online safety, disinformation, and/or data protection.
- Experience advising corporate oversight bodies.
- Experience working with regulators and responding to regulatory inquiries.
- Experience working cross-functionally in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
