Principal/Associate Technical Director Job Summary: We are seeking a Principal/Associate Technical Director to lead the environmental and consenting aspects of projects in Ireland, with a strong track record of winning and delivering work in the environmental planning sector. As part of our Environmental Planning team, you will help improve quality of life by leading the coordination and delivery of planning/environmental work undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams. You will also work closely with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, developing new areas of business and building new contacts. Your key responsibilities will include: • Leading on the coordination and delivery of planning/environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental and planning outcomes. • Strong business development, creating project opportunities, and leading the delivery of projects to build our portfolio in Ireland. • Raising awareness of our services, winning new opportunities, and building new contacts. • Actively engaging in key client relationships, leading by example, creating cross-selling opportunities for the wider business. • Engaging with consultees and stakeholders. • Managing projects, overseeing our performance in technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety. Qualifications and Experience: • Excellent working knowledge of the environmental and consenting process in Ireland, from EIA practices and procedures, including case law, and a solid understanding of environmental and sustainability principles and environmental technical specialisms. • Experience across a range of project types. • Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills with experience in reviewing the work of others to ensure quality. • Experience in multi-disciplinary co-ordination and leadership of projects, with good project management and technical skills. • Experience in consulting and negotiating with planning authorities, regulators, and stakeholders. • Commercial expertise, including forecasting, project management, and quality assurance. • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification, preferably with chartered status or working towards. • A flexible, pragmatic, and collaborative approach to work.
