Role Description: As part of a growing and agile business, our Environmental Planning team is looking for a Principal/Associate Technical Director with a strong track record of leading the environmental and consenting aspects of projects, with particular experience in winning and delivering work in the environmental planning sector within Ireland. As part of our Environmental team, you'll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management, or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve: Protected species Pollution Surface water and materials management Air quality Noise And in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires is becoming more frequent. Role Accountabilities: You will be working on a diverse range of projects including: Large scale energy and infrastructure Rail Highways Water Mixed-use development schemes for both private and public clients Public realm and master planning projects Smaller scale projects that require a nimble and agile approach We drive technical excellence in everything we do and promote a flexible and collaborative environment supported by digital innovation. As well as helping to build and grow our presence in Ireland, you will play a role in the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects across the UK and worldwide. A confident and unflappable approach is required, and you will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, working closely with clients and developing new areas of business. You will also be responsible for the following: Leading on the coordination and delivery of planning/environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental and planning outcomes with a strong understanding of the Irish planning and legal system. Strong business development, creating project opportunities, and leading the delivery of projects to build our portfolio in Ireland while also working closely with sub-consultants. Raising awareness of our services, winning new opportunities, and building new contacts. Actively engaging in key client relationships, leading by example, creating cross-selling opportunities for the wider business. Engaging with consultees and stakeholders. Managing projects, overseeing our performance in technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety. Working closely with existing and established Arcadis colleagues across our Global Business. Qualifications & Experience: Excellent working knowledge of the environmental and consenting process in Ireland, from EIA practices and procedures, including case law, and a solid understanding of environmental and sustainability principles and environmental technical specialisms. Experience across a range of project types. Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills with experience in reviewing the work of others to ensure quality. Experience in multi-disciplinary co-ordination and leadership of projects, with good project management and technical skills. Experience in consulting and negotiating with planning authorities, regulators, and stakeholders. Commercial expertise, including forecasting, project management, and quality assurance. Relevant degree or equivalent qualification, preferably with chartered status or working towards. A flexible, pragmatic, and collaborative approach to work. #J-18808-Ljbffr
