Job Description

New opportunity to join our Internal Audit team as Audit Manager. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the Audit Manager is focused on helping the Board and Executive Management protect the organization's assets, reputation, and sustainability by providing independent and objective assurance to improve its operations. This involves evaluating and improving risk management, control, and governance processes in line with professional standards for internal audit. The job requires a good understanding of the business and influencing business managers to develop and maintain an effective risk and control environment. Responsibilities include * Leading and executing audit assignments, staying informed about industry developments and regulatory requirements, and supporting audit teams in delivering constructive feedback within a complex organization. * Effective communication with shareholders is also important to ensure clear and transparent sharing of information for their understanding and improvement. * Manage the completion of all phases of the audit process for assigned multiple concurrent audits to the required Group and IIA standards and in line with the audit plan approved by the AXA UK Audit Committee. * Deputise for the Head of Audit and relevant committees and boards, as required. * Performs risk assessments for the area of the business covered, contributing significantly to the entity's annual internal audit plan * Works with management in tracking action plans to assist with timely resolution. This includes obtaining periodic updates on remediation progress to support GIA reporting and validating remediation activity undertaken by the business * Build relationships and share expertise within the wider Global Internal Audit family. About the Person * A minimum of 5 years' experience in an internal/external audit environment, ideally with some exposure to compliance/regulatory matters. * University Degree and/or Professional Qualification in Accountancy i.e. ACCA, FCA, ACA, CIMA, CIA, PIIA, AAT. Internal audit qualification. * Significant knowledge of audit practices and techniques * Strong overall leadership skills with a pragmatic, common sense attitude * Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships, influence at all levels throughout the organisation especially ability to develop senior reciprocal relationships * Skilled at communicating complex matters in a simple manner, adopting style to suit the audience and situation, while being respectful and sensitive to the organisational and individual impacts of change. * Strong problem-solving skills and decision making skills - Thinks objectively demonstrating sound judgement * Excellent report writing and presentation skills * Ability to influence upwards with AXA At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home based in one of our office locations - Dublin, Derry or Belfast. Regular travel to our Dublin Head Office will be required.
