Job Description

Automation Engineer for Grifols Grange Castle facility in Dublin. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of automated systems, develop and maintain SOPs, and provide technical support to manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include leading automated systems projects, developing and maintaining SOPs, and providing technical support to manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in implementing automation projects, experience in Siemens Step7 and/or TIA Portal, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multiple disciplines and have a strong understanding of GAMP and electrical schematic drawings. Key competencies include experience in implementing automation projects, experience in Siemens Step7 and/or TIA Portal, and experience in implementing SCADA or HMI projects. The Automation Engineer will also have a strong understanding of electrical schematic drawings, P&ID's, and digital electronic regulations. The ideal candidate will have a relevant third-level qualification, such as BSc in Computer Science or BEng in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, and 3rd party systems training. The candidate will also have experience in CISCO networking and working within a virtual engineering environment. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for delivering automation and control systems from design to commissioning and validation, executing the full software development life cycle, and training maintenance technicians on systems. The candidate will also have experience in database management, such as MS SQL Server, and a working knowledge of CAD design packages. The Automation Engineer will work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, including in-house Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Product Development, partners, and contractors, as well as customer IT and Operations groups. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day functionality of all automated systems, including preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and end-user support. The candidate will also have experience in developing and programming new additions to existing systems, testing and validating work, and presenting relevant documentation to the automation supervisor. The Automation Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring that automated systems are maintained in a validated condition and associated documentation. The candidate will also have experience in leading and supporting the development of all necessary support system documentation related to the automation systems. The Automation Engineer will also be responsible for supporting the validation of automated systems designed specifically for the manufacturing process.
