Position: Automation Engineer Location: County Louth Salary: €35,000 - €45,000 per annum Exciting Opportunity: Automation Engineer in County Louth! About Our Client: Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing company based in County Louth, is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join their team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing automation systems to optimize production processes and improve efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for production and manufacturing processes. Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to automate and enhance production operations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation equipment, control systems, and machinery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and engineering, to identify automation needs and opportunities. Conduct regular maintenance and updates on automation systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Develop and maintain documentation for automation processes, including control logic, wiring diagrams, and system configurations. Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies in all automation activities. Provide technical support and training to production staff and maintenance teams on automation systems. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency and reduce downtime. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as an Automation Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI development, and SCADA systems. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or Profibus. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
