Position: Automation Engineer Location: County Westmeath Salary: €50,000 - €60,000 per annum Exciting Opportunity: Automation Engineer in County Westmeath! About the Role: Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join their team in County Westmeath. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to improve production and manufacturing processes. Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation systems and equipment to minimize downtime. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate automation solutions into existing processes. Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on automation systems to ensure reliability and performance. Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including wiring diagrams, system configurations, and programming logic. Stay up to date with industry advancements and recommend new technologies to improve process automation. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance teams on the use and troubleshooting of automation systems. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in automation engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI development, and SCADA systems. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, or Ethernet/IP. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
