About the Role! We have an exciting opportunity to join our Team in Leprino Foods EU. We are a food manufacturing plant at Junction 17 Laois. We are a global Mozzarella supplier and Our HQ is in Denver Colorado. The team onsite of 130 employees. Role Purpose To support and develop the site-wide process control system. To include the design, maintenance and updating of PLC hardware and software, across the site to ensure that it meets corporate standards, and process integrity and maximizes operational efficiency. Plan, coordinate and control the activities of the field instrumentation systems through systems repairs, condition monitoring and systems testing in accordance with design specifications to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Plant. Reporting to the Engineering Manager Responsibilities & Measures of Success: Relationship Development Proactively resolving technical issues before they impact the business priorities and operational Automation support requests On-floor support of manufacturing activities. Ensure supply of high-quality product through ensuring equipment and system availability maximize performance through continuous process improvement initiatives and other relevant operational support requirements Responsible for supporting a culture of Continuous Improvement by deploying Six Sigma tools within Automation in relation to problem solving to support any associated investigations Support and troubleshooting of supporting PLC/HMI and Scada based systems will be required. Work collaboratively to drive a safe and compliant culture in Company. Manage new equipment process and product introduction projects. Responsibility for the automation network (management of network diagram, switches, asset record), PLC hardware (installation validation, audit and end of life management), server hardware and operating systems Calibrate and maintain instrumentation devices such as temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, and analytical instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will be involved in exciting projects within the dairy industry and requires an experienced individual with strong attention to detail. Responsible for instrumentation and control design on projects of all sizes. Effectively manage maintenance and calibrations of all instruments used in the plant Record and communicate detailed instrument calibration information and usage procedures to line managers, supervisors, peers or subordinates. Responsible to review reports generated and look for trends to highlight improvements / need for improvements. May be required to perform other duties as assigned Operational Excellence Optimize control systems for faster and more efficient operations Implement advance automation to reduce manual intervention and errors Ensure instrumentation provides accurate data for decision making Adhere to industry standards and best practices for quality assurance Integrate new technologies and methodologies to improve system performance. Use data-driven insights to refine processes and enhance capabilities. Develop preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Implement rigorous safety checks and risk assessments. Work closely with other departments to ensure cohesive operations. Facilitate training sessions and share best practices within the team. Support engineering, production, quality teams to ensure cohesive project execution Provide insights and solutions to enhance other teams efficiency and effectiveness People/Team Work with engineering team to design and implement innovative solutions Share insights and expertise to enhance technical projects Ensure smooth integration of systems into daily operations Assist in troubleshooting to minimize downtime Partner to develop systems that meet quality standards Implement feedback to ensure continuous improvement Responsible Care Adhere to regulations: Ensure all systems comply with industry safety standars and regulations Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential Implement eco-friendly technologies and processes to reduce environmental impact Optimize systems to minimize waste and conserve energy Ensure systems operate within specified parameters to maintain product quality Maintain transparency in documenting and reporting systems performance and issues Foster a culture of ethical team work and open communication Keep all stakeholders informed about safety and environmental initiatives Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role.
