Automation Manufacturing Engineer

Team Horizon is seeking an experienced Automation Manufacturing Engineer for our client's site in Cork, which is a modern 'bulk tablet' facility manufacturing solid and capsule formulations for key therapeutic areas such as oncology and virology.

In this role, you will work with counterparts in Production, QA, and Engineering departments, and as a team, you will be responsible for all manufacturing Automation & IT systems/processes in use.

What you will be doing:

  1. To administer and support all Automation & IT Processes in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment.
  2. Implement, qualify, commission and maintain manufacturing Automation & IT systems (MES, SCADA) and associate IT infrastructure that delivers operational efficiency and agility.
  3. Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities for continuous Automation & IT process improvement.
  4. Define requirements on capital projects and interact with internal & external stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
  5. Manage Automation projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Work with Production/Engineering and Quality to troubleshoot and optimise output, minimise contamination and minimise costs.
  7. Generate & Maintain documentation (SOP's & Technical Documentation) for full cGMP validation and operation, including documentation of changes made.
  8. Maintain Data Integrity Program, including remediation of legacy systems to ensure robust procedure and systems are in place covering data integrity, security, and recovery.
  9. Actively contribute to the Automation Business Strategy.
  10. Any other duties as assigned.

What you need to apply:

  1. Relevant 3rd level degree in Mechatronics, Electronics or Computer Technology.
  2. 5 years' experience in a similar role and environment.
  3. Experience supporting MES & Data Historian applications.
  4. Experience with PLC (Siemens), SCADA, and process equipment.
  5. SCADA experience (iFix, WinCC).
  6. Knowledge of Shop floor Network & Control Architecture with Electronic Batch Record Implementation.
  7. Instrumentation/Automation & Control knowledge with BMS / SCADA / DCS / PLC.
