Job Description

AV Engineer The Osborne team are pleased to be partnering with our well established client, providers of Audio-Visual Communications Systems in the commercial sector. They are seeking a skilled AV Engineer to join their team in order to effectively service their clients based in the Munster region. Position Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting audio-visual (AV) systems for clients both onsite and remotely. Your technical expertise will be key to ensuring optimal system performance and delivering exceptional customer service. The role will require site surveys, AV installations, and timely resolution of hardware and software issues. Some overtime may be necessary to meet project deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Perform onsite and remote maintenance, repair, and testing of AV systems. Troubleshoot integrated systems, including DSP (Digital Signal Processing) systems. Work closely with manufacturers' technical engineers to resolve complex issues. Fine-tune AV systems for optimal audio and video performance. Manage van stock and monitor warehouse stock levels to ensure efficient operations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear and professional communication. Travel to various client sites as required. Follow all company safety policies and procedures when working onsite. Mount, secure, and install AV equipment according to industry standards and client specifications. Collaborate with project teams to interpret technical drawings, elevations, and schematics. Install, terminate, and test audio, video, and control systems (displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, codecs, control interfaces, etc.). Conduct onsite surveys and inspections, ensuring all relevant information is captured before installation. Qualifications & Requirements: Full, clean drivers license. Minimum of 2 years' experience in AV services, including installation and troubleshooting. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex AV system issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client relationships. Experience with remote access programs and a solid understanding of networking, including VPN configuration. Knowledge of advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control systems. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Industry certifications such as Crestron, QSYS, Biamp, or Poly are highly preferred. Minimum of a Leaving Certificate (or equivalent), with formal education in Electronics or a related field preferred.
