Are you a highly experienced and strategic Risk professional? My client are looking to add an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Risk to their global aviation company, headquartered in Shannon, Co. Clare. This senior role will be responsible for leading the company's risk management initiatives, providing strategic oversight, and ensuring the effective identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks across the organisation. As AVP of Risk, you will work closely with executive leadership to align risk management practices with the company's overall business strategy and objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of the company's risk management framework, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic advice to the executive team and board on risk exposure, trends, and mitigation strategies. Drive the company's risk culture, fostering a proactive approach to risk identification and management across all departments. Oversee the identification, analysis, and prioritisation of risks, including operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic risks. Ensure effective risk controls and mitigation strategies are in place and reviewed regularly for effectiveness. Lead efforts to continuously enhance risk management practices in response to the changing aviation landscape and emerging threats. Develop and deliver comprehensive risk reports to the executive team and board of directors, highlighting key risk areas and recommending appropriate actions. Ensure the effective communication of risk management practices across the organisation, from senior leadership to operational teams. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in risk management ideally within aviation, aerospace, or a financial services industry. In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and lead cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
