Job Description

Job Summary: Banking Accountant responsible for implementing day-to-day financial control and assisting with the production of monthly management accounts, statistics, regulatory returns, and financial reporting.

As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, as well as providing support for the production of management reports and regulatory filings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily account keeping, including receiving, allocating, recording, and paying supplier invoices, expense reports, and intra-Group invoices.
  • Prepare intra-Group invoices and monitor trade accounts payable.
  • Perform monthly account keeping actions relating to accrued expenses and prepaid expenses on trade accounts payable.
  • Handle the accounting treatment of payroll expenses and fixed assets.
  • Produce monthly financial statements under local and IFRS standards, including timeline, closing entries, and analyses of financial statements.
  • Contribute to the production of the management report and substantiate accounts under your responsibility.

Tax Treatments:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and production of tax filings, including VAT, corporation tax, and other country-specific filings.
  • Ensure coherence between accounting and tax outputs.

Other Duties:

  • Participate in writing operational procedures and operating methods.
  • Monitor regulatory and accounting watch activities and support the production of CBI returns.
  • Prepare and/or control statements to be filed with oversight bodies.
  • Calculate and communicate the amount of the reserve requirement.
  • Ensure coherence between various outputs, including regulatory, statutory, and management reports.
  • Respond to enquiries from other business units within the scope of activity.
  • Prepare and collate monthly statistics for management reporting.

Job Attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant or a minimum an Accounting Qualification of third level qualification in a related field with relevant work history.
  • Experience within a similar position in finance services or banking.
  • Experience or an interest in the development and training of more junior employees.
  • Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written English.
  • Exposure to SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and OneSumX (a regulatory reporting tool) is advantageous.
