Job Description

Job Summary: Banking Accountant responsible for implementing day-to-day financial control, producing monthly management accounts, and assisting with regulatory returns and financial reporting.

As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for implementing day-to-day financial control, producing monthly management accounts, and assisting with regulatory returns and financial reporting. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information, as well as providing support to the team in meeting regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement day-to-day financial control, with a focus on corporate accounting, trade accounts payable, and fixed assets.
  • Participate in daily account keeping, including receiving, allocating, recording, and paying supplier invoices, expense reports, and intra-Group invoices.
  • Prepare intra-Group invoices, monitor trade accounts payable, and perform monthly account keeping actions relating to accrued expenses and prepaid expenses.
  • Handle the accounting treatment of payroll expenses, fixed assets, and produce monthly financial statements under local and IFRS standards.
  • Contribute to the production of the management report, substantiate accounts, and send them for accounting control.

Tax Treatments:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns, tax filings, and ensure coherence between accounting and tax outputs.

Other Duties:

  • Participate in writing operational procedures and operating methods, ensure regulatory and accounting watch activities monitoring, and support the production of CBI returns.
  • Prepare and/or control statements to be filed with oversight bodies, calculate and communicate the amount of the reserve requirement, and ensure coherence between various outputs.
  • Respond to enquiries from other business units, prepare and collate monthly statistics, and resolve and escalate issues as appropriate.

Job Attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant or a minimum an Accounting Qualification of third level qualification in a related field with relevant work history.
  • Experience within a similar position in finance services or banking, with excellent Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written English, with exposure to SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and OneSumX (a regulatory reporting tool) advantageous.

  • Self-starter with a passion for working with and analysing numbers in detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing finance environment and learn new accounting software applications.
