Job Description

Harkin's Bar & Bistro, Dublin 8 are hiring a new Bar Manager. The ideal candidate will be energetic, passionate about exceptional service, organised and an excellent people manager.

They will work alongside the existing Restaurant and Kitchen Managers, overseeing the efficient running of all beverage and food services for the business.

A key part of this role will be to oversee the efficient running of the bar, service standards, team management, rostering, training, ordering and stock control, and GP margin achievement.

You will also be required to work alongside bar staff, set days:

  • Monday- 9am to 5pm
  • Wednesday- 9am to 5pm
  • Friday- 9am to 6pm
  • Saturday- 9am to 6pm (every second Saturday off)

You will be required to organise cover for staff taking annual leave, or sick leave, and if necessary, cover these shifts yourself.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have previous experience managing a team.
  • Have good financial acumen and minimum 5 years' experience ordering stock, managing rosters, overseeing payroll entry for all staff, stock management, and percentage margins.
  • Be passionate and motivated by guest satisfaction.
  • Be organised and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a team player.

Duties:

  • Liaising with other managers and reporting back directly to the Business Owners.
  • Overseeing hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  • Rostering for Bar and Floor staff.
  • Duty management of all aspects of the building with a strong emphasis on Restaurant & Bar.
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation and guidelines.
  • Promoting the business, managing social media and email enquiries.
  • Cash lodgements and ensuring adequate coin and note on premises.
  • Stock control, management of orders, dealing with reps.
  • Bi-Monthly stock take.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
