Job Description

Motivated and empathetic Basic Grade Clinical Psychologist sought to enhance quality of life for adults with intellectual disabilities, working autonomously and collaboratively with excellent communication and organisational skills. The role involves providing psychological assessments, interventions, and support to adults with intellectual disabilities, working with community, residential and day service staff teams to deliver cognitive assessments, behavioural interventions, and therapeutic supports. Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions for individuals with intellectual, physical, and sensory disabilities. Developing behaviour management plans and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Key requirements include a university degree or diploma in Psychology with honours, an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland, and competence in the Care Group applied for. Applicants must also demonstrate 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements or post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist.

Desirable experience includes working with Positive Behaviour Support, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or other specialist therapeutic approaches, and experience working in residential or community-based settings.
