Job Description
Reporting to the BIM Lead, the BIM Engineer is responsible for delivering all 3D and 2D coordination milestones on each project.
- Support the project team with regard to all coordination deliverables
- Deliver all 3D and 2D deliverables set by the BIM Lead
- Assist the BIM Lead with production of 2D coordination and installation drawings
- Assist the BIM Lead with 3D elements needed for design and coordination
- Support all parties working within the BIM process
Key Responsibilities
- Detailing of 3D elements needed for design and coordination
- Production of 3D model files through Revit and fabrication CAD
- Production of 2D coordination and installation drawings
- Ensuring detailed model files are coordinated and clash-free
- Administration of Vault files
- Clash detection of submitted files
- Daily building of federated model
- Verification and preparation of layout drawings
- Conferring with project engineer and project management staff
- Production of all verified record drawings
- Site surveying and verification
- Updating and administering of all coordination documents
Requirements
- 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or strong trades background coupled with a BIM qualification
- A minimum of 3+ years' experience within a BIM coordination function
- Mechanical or Electrical background and proven track record in a similar role
- Proven ability to lead a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to short deadlines
