Job Description

My client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Biologics Manufacturing Technician to join their team in Westport, Co. Mayo. You will be supporting the biologics new product introduction area, which is an exciting opportunity for development. This role is perfect for someone who wants to be at the forefront of new product introduction in biologics manufacturing. As part of the fill-finish area, you will gain experience working with a lyophilizer, including handling lyophilized products. The role involves a hands-on approach and will require flexibility to work within a fast-paced and evolving production setting. Key Responsibilities: Support the production of biologics in a fill-finish environment, including handling and operating equipment such as lyophilizers. Assist in new product introduction processes, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and aseptic manufacturing guidelines. Conduct routine and non-routine aseptic operations, including set-up, operation, and cleaning of processing equipment. Monitor processes and perform in-process checks to ensure the highest standards of quality. Participate in process validations, ensuring all new products meet regulatory and quality standards. Maintain cleanroom environments in line with Grade A/B requirements (Grade C/D experience also considered). Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize operations. Requirements: Education: Third-level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science) or equivalent work experience. Experience: 12-18 months of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry is required. Essential Skills: Cleanroom experience is essential. Experience working in Grade A/B environments is ideal; candidates with Grade C/D experience will also be considered. Understanding of aseptic manufacturing processes. Desirable Skills: Previous experience with biologics manufacturing or fill-finish processes. Knowledge of lyophilization processes and equipment.
