About NewERA NewERA provides a dedicated centre of corporate finance expertise to Government in relation to the oversight of commercial State-owned companies. NewERA's core role is to provide financial and commercial advice to Government Ministers in relation to major commercial State companies across a range of sectors and w hich play a critical role in the the Irish economy: AirNav Ireland, An Post, Bord na Mna, Coillte, Cras Iompair ireann (including Bus ireann, Dublin Bus and Irish Rail), daa, Dublin Port Company, EirGrid, ESB, Gas Networks Ireland, Irish Aviation Authority, Land Development Agency, Port of Cork, Port of Waterford, Shannon Foynes Port Company, Shannon Airport Group, RT, TG4, Uisce ireann and Vhi (together the Portfolio Companies). NewERA's approach is to facilitate an enhanced level of active ownership by the State as shareholder in the Portfolio Companies. Combined, the State as shareholder has €28bn of capital invested in the Portfolio Companies. For further information, please see: About the Role NewERA is seeking a high calibre professional to join its team on a permanent basis to support the provision of NewERA's advice in relation to a) the appointment of members (including chairpersons) to the boards of the Portfolio Companies and (b) the remuneration of the chairpersons/directors/chief executives of the Portfolio Companies. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of companies and sectors working alongside an experienced and knowledgeable team. In respect of its advisory role on the appointment of members to the boards of the Portfolio Companies, NewERA works with the Public Appointments Services ("PAS") to identify and assess potential candidates through a public appointments process, for recommendation to the relevant Ministers (for further information see which is maintained by PAS and includes an Appendix to Guidelines on Appointments to State Boards - NewERA Companies). Principle Responsibilities The successful candidate's ongoing responsibilties will include: Coordination and tracking of board appointment campaigns including the ongoing management and tracking of all relevant documentation to a high standard. Act as a point of contact between NewERA, relevant Government Departments, PAS and the relevant commercial State company and provide administration support for shortlisting and candidate meetings. Produce weekly status reports on the progress of each campaign. Collation and updating of all board data for internal and external reporting purposes. Maintenance of a contacts database for all key stakeholder contacts across the appointments process. Provision of support to the NewERA panel representatives during campaigns, as required. Researching general market trends in senior executive and non-executive recruitment and remuneration. Initial preparation and drafting of NewERA reports on board appointments /remuneration. Educational Requirements Third level degree. Masters degree or other post graduate accreditations desirable. Experience Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in a relevant role in professional services/executive recruitment and remuneration, advisory and/or a commercial organisation of scale. Skills Understanding of recruitment and executive search. Knowledge of role profiling and CV assessment. Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail. Intermediate excel skills. Report writing/review skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Stakeholder management skills.
