CompanyOur client is an independent, French headquartered Underwriter, with a strong reputation in the European market. They specialize mainly in Construction Insurance acting as agent of Insurance Companies awarded with an A rating. They also place Corporate and Commercial Damage Risks, as well as Civil Liability and Other Risks Insurance, both in France and in the countries of the European Community.Opportunity:As the Bookkeeper / Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping/reconciliation and providing financial information to management. You will work closely with the other departments and will report into the Financial Controller.Responsibilities:Manage Accounting Operations: Oversee the Accounting department to ensure accurate completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks within specified deadlines.Banking Reconciliation & Payments: Ensure accurate daily banking reconciliation and timely payments to insurers and brokers, along with the provision of relevant financial reports.Financial Reporting: Prepare and provide financial management reports and insights to support the company’s decision-making and activity control.Payroll Coordination: Liaise with external Accountants to ensure the prompt and accurate processing and reconciliation of payroll.IT Systems Utilization: Ensure the accounting department fully utilizes available IT systems to provide efficient and cost-effective financial services.Support Senior Management: Assist the Financial Controller and Managing Director in overseeing and managing the company’s activities and financial operations.Candidate Requirements:Accounting degree or extensive ‘on the job’ Bookkeeping qualifications and experience.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience.Proficiency in English and French.Ability to work under pressure, proactive attitude, strong accounting knowledge, and self-management skills.Remuneration:Salary is competitive and depends on experience level. Other benefits include bonus, pension, health insurance and as little as 3 days a week office attendance.
