Job Description

Seeking experienced Branch Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales and customer service excellence in a nationwide network of branches.

Our client is Ireland's largest independent builders' providers, offering a wide range of top quality building materials and DIY & home improvement supplies to the general public and trade.

The Branch Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing daily branch operations, including stock management and customer service
  • Developing relationships with existing and new customers to maximise sales and business development opportunities
  • People management, including coaching and development of the team based in the branch
  • Supporting the existing branch team and ensuring highest standards of customer service
  • Building good working relationships with group purchasing, central distribution and suppliers
  • Monitoring and maintaining efficient branch operating costs and leading cost saving initiatives
  • Ensuring branch maintains highest standards of housekeeping and merchandising
  • Ensuring all mandatory health and safety training is completed and branch is a safe place for staff and customers
  • Working closely with group credit control and marketing manager to ensure debtors days are minimised and local marketing campaigns are ran
  • Co-ordinating local administrative requirements and ensuring company policies are adhered to
  • Attending group meetings and focus group sessions to share experiences and best practices
  • Network and maintain excellent relations with the local community

Key Requirements:

  • Management background with prior experience
  • Strong understanding of the hardwoods, softwoods, and sheet materials industry
  • Proven experience working with joinery manufacturers and specifiers
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Diploma or degree in a commercial discipline preferred
