Job Description

**Job Summary:** The Bus Connects Cost Control Manager will oversee the development and implementation of cost control systems, ensuring the efficient delivery of the Core Bus Corridors Infrastructure Works. The Bus Connects Cost Control Manager will be responsible for: * Developing and updating cost control systems, including scheme cost-estimates, service provider contracts, and contractor contract administration * Working with project management teams to deliver Bus Connects Infrastructure Schemes in the cost-control context * Interfacing with internal departments and agencies responsible for delivering Authority-funded projects * Providing cost control administrative assistance in monitoring and reporting of the annual budget allocation for the Core Bus Corridors Infrastructure Works * Monitoring and auditing costs incurred by Service Providers, particularly those contracted under the NEC4 form of contract * Assisting in the preparation of regular progress/expenditure reports * Participating in other Authority projects and initiatives as required **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop and maintain cost control systems to ensure efficient delivery of the Core Bus Corridors Infrastructure Works * Collaborate with project management teams to deliver Bus Connects Infrastructure Schemes * Provide administrative support for cost control and financial reporting * Monitor and audit costs incurred by Service Providers * Prepare regular progress/expenditure reports * Participate in other Authority projects and initiatives **Essential Criteria:** * Hold a minimum of a NFQ level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline (engineering, quantity surveying, business studies, economics, or equivalent) * Have a minimum of 5 years satisfactory experience in a cost management role related to public infrastructure projects * Have at least 2 years satisfactory experience managing people or projects * Have a high standard of technical training and experience in cost/financial management * Have experience of working with financial accounting systems **Desirable Criteria:** * Knowledge of construction cost management systems * Experience of cost management of public infrastructure projects related to transport or civil engineering construction/infrastructure contracts * Knowledge of public procurement procedures at national and EU level * Strong analytical capability, with a logical approach to problem solving and sound judgement * Excellent report writing skills * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and as leader of a group * Ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines * Strong MS Office skills, particularly MS Excel
