Job Description

We are currently recruiting on belhalf of your client in the legal industry for a highly qualified Business Anaylst with legal experience. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping continue the client's transformation, and who is comfortable in getting into the detail to deliver better legal services for clients. This role provides an opportunity to work in a cross-disciplinary group who are helping to transform how legal professionals deliver legal services. The role is part law, part technology and will require skills in both these domains to help us design and build solutions which combine the best legal process with industry leading technology. It is a business facing role and covers the full lifecycle of solution delivery - from inception through to ongoing support. The role will also involve working with the Business Services teams and external suppliers to ensure any new products or technologies which are selected are robust, scalable and align with the firm's business, technical and contractual standards. Role and responsibilities Proactively build a detailed and in depth understanding of the legal, operational and business processes used in the delivery of legal services by the firm. Become a subject matter expert in the products and solutions that are part of the clients portfolio and demonstrate their benefits and usage to our practice groups and clients. Conduct requirements capture workshops, meetings and presentations to gather business justification drivers and requirements (both functional and non-functional) for each new project. Undertake gap analysis of captured legal process requirements against any existing in-house solutions. Identify any enhancements necessary to align these with the project requirements. Communicate clearly and concisely to all stakeholders, at all stages, to ensure they are aware of progress and remain aligned on scope and deliverables. Undertake new product capability assessments, comparisons and evaluations. Using best practice methods and processes. Liaise with all stakeholders. Actively manage stakeholder expectations in terms of project scope and delivery timelines. Coordinate and manage the contracts and relationships of third-party suppliers. Ensure the delivery of business analysis collateral for multiple projects simultaneously. Support all phases of the projects user acceptance testing cycle to ensure requirements as detailed in the specification documentation have been delivered. Work closely with project stakeholders, Business Services, and IT teams to ensure a smooth transition to the new solution. Develop and deliver training programs and materials to ensure effective and ongoing adoption and usage of legal technology solutions across various legal teams and users. Stay current with emerging trends and developments Skills, experience and characteristics required Essential: Experience in both legal processes and technology use, with a proven ability to bridge the gap between the two. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal / legal technology role with an in-depth understanding of legal processes and workflows. A bachelor's degree in law, engineering, computer science, or a related analytical field, or equivalent experience Excellent ability in producing high quality, clear, structured business requirements and project documentation. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills to present technical information to a non-technical audience. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels. Excellent analysis, collaboration, influencing and perseverance skills to ensure projects are successfully delivered. A self-starter who is comfortable in, and committed to, working through ambiguity with an ability to take the initiative. Excellent ability to steer projects through to completion by taking ownership and working through ambiguity. Excellent end to end project lifecycle experience including testing solutions to ensure they meet requirements. Ability to balance immediate client needs with the maturing strategic aims of the firm/function. Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation, and the ability to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and in-house requirements. Excellent time management and prioritisation abilities. Able to handle multiple deliveries in a changing environment with minimal supervision. High level of professionalism and accountability; handles sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care. Advanced proficiency with the full Microsoft Office suite and diagramming applications such as Visio, Lucid etc. Desirable: Proficiency in legal technology tools and software, such as contract management systems, document automation platforms, case management software etc. Experience with AI and generative AI in applying this technology in the legal domain.
