Business Development Manager

Cork, Ireland, Remote

We are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager who will be based in Ireland and report directly to the Sales & Operations Manager, James Walker Ireland.

A dynamic global manufacturing organisation supplying a vast range of high performance fluid sealing products and associated knowledge-based services to virtually every industry sector. With state-of-the-art skills in materials technology, particularly relating to elastomers, polymers, composites and engineering plastics plus extensive expertise in precision machining of exotic alloys for metallic seals, and tension control fasteners for bolted joints. Our worldwide group of companies has 11 operations and a further 40 spread across Continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, SE Asia, South Africa and the USA.

The Position

The role is responsible for strategically sourcing, developing and tactically executing a continuous pipeline of new business opportunities, engaging with key stakeholders to win opportunities that will contribute to the long-term growth and profitability of the Company. You will be responsible for managing the generation, nurturing and tracking of qualified leads into the sales process and through to a winning conclusion. You will also deliver focused sales and marketing plans/campaigns in conjunction with Marketing that create a sense of urgency and shorten the sales cycle.

  • Have experience of working in a sales orientated role with a sound understanding and use of sales strategies and methodology.
  • Technical aptitude or experience.
  • Have a proven track record of winning new business.
  • Demonstrate an ability to overcome barriers, manage objections and handle rejections.
  • You have exceptional sales techniques – especially in consultative and value selling, preferably with highly technical products and services.
  • You are a master communicator, demonstrating excellent presentation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills at various levels of a business.
  • Demonstrate a clear ability to problem solve and make focused and considered decisions.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Passionate about what you do and take responsibility for getting things done.
  • Able to build great relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • You use your knowledge to fully understand your customer needs and make a difference.
  • Continually challenge your own practice, looking for new ways to improve and inspire others to change for better.
