Job Summary: Skilled operative required to work in meat production, handling carcasses, and processing meat products with high quality standards.

The line operative will take responsibility for efficiently delivering high quality meat products ready for the market.

Job Description

  • Perform all stages of the primary conversion of cattle, sheep and pigs.
  • Break carcasses into quarters for further processing.
  • Debone into primals for wholesale and retail processing.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of animal anatomy and meat cuts.
  • Ability to use knives, saws, and other tools safely and efficiently.
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy carcasses and work in cold and wet conditions.
  • Compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Respect for animal welfare.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to learn, manage and safely operate machinery.
  • Highly organized and driven, an effective time manager.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Thinking and reasoning skills.

Working Conditions

  • 39 hours per week with some flexibility required.
  • Relocation assistance available.
