Today, Michael Twomey Butchers is a well-respected and well-known brand throughout the region, renowned for their exceptional products and customer service We are currently expanding our team and are looking to hire three butchers with varying levels of experience, including a specialist boner. Whether youre an experienced butcher, just starting your career, or have specialized skills, wed love to hear from you! Job Title:Butchers(3 Positions) Location: Macroom, Co Cork Employment Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive, based on experience Position 1:Experienced Butcher We are looking for a highly skilled butcher who can lead by example and bring extensive knowledge to the team. Key Responsibilities: Expertly trimming, boning, and cutting meats Supervising less experienced team members Maintaining a high standard retail display Providing excellent customer service Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards Managing inventory and stock levels Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of professional butchery experience Strong knowledge of various meat types and cuts Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Leadership skills to mentor and guide junior butchers Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP Position 2: Junior Butcher This position is ideal for someone with limited experience but a passion for learning and developing in the butchery trade. Key Responsibilities: Assisting experienced butchers with daily tasks Learning and developing skills in cutting, trimming, and boning Providing excellent customer service Ensuring proper storage and handling of meats Maintaining a clean and safe work environment Requirements: 1-2 years of butchery experience (or equivalent experience in food preparation) Willingness to learn and take direction Basic understanding of meat cuts and processing Attention to detail and cleanliness Position 3: Boner We are looking for a specialized boner who can efficiently and expertly bone meats, focusing on precision and speed. Key Responsibilities: Breaking down carcasses, boning and trimming meats with high precision Minimizing waste while maximizing yield Working with other butchers to prepare cuts for sale Maintaining tools and equipment in proper working order Following food safety regulations Requirements: Experience as a boner in a professional setting Excellent knife skills and attention to detail Knowledge of different types of meat and how to bone them efficiently Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
