Seeking a seasoned FMCG buyer with 2+ years of experience to drive sales and margins for a leading Irish-owned family business.
Buyer - FMCG
As a key member of the buying office, you will be responsible for delivering sales and margins for your assigned product range. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and passionate team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current suppliers, research new suppliers, and make recommendations.
- Predict future purchasing requirements and identify new products and categories based on customer insights.
- Write, place, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Analyze sales figures, market trends, and customer behavior to determine product needs.
- Develop and implement product promotions, price changes, and other initiatives to drive sales.
- Resolve purchase order and invoice issues, and liaise with Merchandisers on product sourcing.
- Coach junior team members and share best practices across the team.
- Develop category strategies, including research and analysis, to identify saving opportunities and drive trade.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of buying experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Discreet, professional, and excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license.
