Job Description
Seeking an experienced Buyer to shape product selection and manage inventory for an award-winning garden centre and lifestyle retailer.
As a key player in shaping the future of retail, you will be responsible for maintaining clear communication with various departments, providing supplier information, and conducting regular price comparisons to ensure competitive pricing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain clear communication with Purchasing, Warehouse, EPOS, Finance, Marketing, and Department Managers on all purchasing matters
- Provide supplier information to the EPOS Team
- Apply pricing policies by reviewing merchandising, promotions, and buying trends
- Conduct regular price comparisons to ensure competitive pricing
- Analyse reports with the Purchasing Manager to assess performance and identify improvement actions
- Generate reports on purchasing and stock movements
- Attend trade fairs to explore new products and manage supplier relationships
Requirements:
- At least two years' experience in a similar role
- Experience in garden or lifestyle retail buying preferred, but not required
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with departments and suppliers
- Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented with a positive attitude
- Excellent multitasking and prioritisation skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
