Job Description
Morgan McKinley are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Buyer/Planner to join an innovative and fast-growing start-up in the FMCG sector, based in Dublin.
This Buyer/Planner will be responsible for managing the procurement and planning activities within the supply chain to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and goods.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the FMCG industry, particularly in food and beverage, and will be adept at forecasting, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms for materials, packaging, and other supplies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
- Implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Analyze market trends, sales data, and historical performance to develop accurate demand forecasts.
- Adjust plans based on forecast accuracy and market changes.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure reliability and quality of supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Work closely with the production, quality, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in crossfunctional meetings to discuss and resolve supply chain issues.
Key requirements:
- 4+ years experience in a similar role, preferably in the FMCG sector.
- Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management principles.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in using ERP systems.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Experience with international suppliers and understanding of global supply chain dynamics.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, APICS).
