Position: Cables Electrical/Civil Engineer, Transmission and Distribution Delivery Job Title: Cables Electrical/Civil Engineer Team: Transmission and Distribution Delivery Are you looking for a new challenge? Join our dedicated team where we are responsible for the design of high voltage transmission and distribution assets for ESB Networks as well as providing consultancy services in Transmission & Distribution technology for external clients. This includes both conceptual and detailed engineering design, design safety management (Project Supervisor Design Stage), project programming, and commercial management. The will use their significant experience in design and project delivery to deliver multi-discipline projects. They will be required to have a strong project management and technical design background, detailed knowledge of internal safety procedures, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The HV Cables Design Team is responsible for the development and standardization of underground design solutions to ESB Networks, EirGrid, and other external clients. This is a specialist technical team who provide technical guidance to our partners in ESBN and the HV Cables Project Teams to ensure high-quality assets are constructed to appropriate standards. We are looking for a Cables Electrical/Civil Engineer to join us on our journey to a Brighter Future. Key Responsibilities Use previous experience to provide high quality cables designs, attend design meetings and produce all project deliverables such as budgetary and quality requirements on a diverse range of electricity transmission and distribution development projects Preparation of specifications, design review, cable rating calculations and reports, tender evaluations, design and management of technical requirements for procurement of new materials, and site inspection/supervision Provision of specialist design support to HV Cable project and subsea teams Working as Project Supervisor Design Stage and co-ordinate safety on projects (PSDP) Preparation & review of design risk assessments and project H&S plans for design & construction teams Undertake the role of Lead Engineer. Manage and coordinate inputs from a range of engineering disciplines and key stakeholders Provide HV Project design support associated with internal and external project delivery models (EPC) Provide project coordination of external framework designers Knowledge, Skills and Experience Working as part of this dynamic team, you will always have new challenges and new problems to solve – working together is key. You will have the autonomy to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems with the support of your colleagues. Essential A proven track record in underground HV cable design, with a strong understanding of all elements of design, construction, and commissioning practices A good knowledge of standards applicable to HV Cables (e.g. IEC, CIGRE) Commercial and project management experience The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities PSDP experience Site Working experience Full Driving licence and access to a car Desirable Chartered Engineer Status Qualifications Either a third level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential. #J-18808-Ljbffr
