Job Description

Job Summary: Experienced telecoms technician required for cabling and splicing installations on fixed line and MDU projects nationwide.

We are a quality partner to large organisations for telecoms, civils, utilities, facilities, and technical services. Our mission is to be the go-to global partner for critical infrastructure design, build and maintenance operations.

The successful candidate will carry out cabling and splicing installations on fixed line and MDU projects primarily. Works will be nationwide, with a focus on the Midlands, Athlone, and Dublin regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of fibre cable and enclosures within existing infrastructure locations
  • Installation of new enclosures within residential and business premises
  • Ability to follow design drawings and schematic
  • Experience on rod, rope, test, and cable activities
  • Installation of POE's in residential areas
  • Carry out traffic management at each site, as required
  • Work alongside splicing teams daily
  • Installation of "Invisilight" products is an advantage
  • Working around the public in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies
  • Liaise with managers daily
  • Escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely close out
  • Ability to maintain and interpret records of daily work logs, data recordings, and network design maps
  • Ability to operate communications devices and company vehicles in accordance with company policies
  • Carry out ad-hoc duties as requested by your manager
  • Carry out your duties to meet Secto Quality, Safety, and Environmental requirements
  • Work with colleagues to ensure work is delivered on time and to specification

Requirements:

  • Full-time education for an acceptable period
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a telecom's technician role
  • Experience in working on FTTx projects, MDU experience preferable
  • Flexibility around travel is desirable
  • Strong team working ethos
  • Very good English language skills, both written and verbal, are a must
  • Presentable appearance
  • Team player with proven ability to liaise and communicate with client representatives on site

Essential Certifications:

  • Safe Pass (valid and in date) or CSR (N.I)
  • Manual Handling (valid and in date)
  • Signing, Lighting and Guarding at the roadside, SLG (valid and in date)
  • Full, clean driver's licence, B Category
  • Working at Height Training (preferable)
