We are currently recruiting for a General Manager with an immediate start.Job Title: General ManagerReporting to: Operations DirectorLocation: RDSRate of pay: €90,000 per annum + 10% bonus scheme based on successful achievement of set KPI’s.Working pattern: 40 hours per week across 5 days, Monday to SundayJob Purpose:As the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the overall event and hospitality operations at RDS, a premier event space that hosts a wide range of events, including a private Members’ Club, the Dublin Horseshow, public and trade events, corporate conferences, galas, and more. The General Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of exceptional events, ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of operational expertise, strategic thinking and commercial acumen with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members, managed in line with client expectations and the Gather & Gather brand.Main duties will include but are not limited to:• Develop and execute comprehensive event strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction• Manage a team of event coordinators, sales professionals, and hospitality team members to deliver exceptional events• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of events, including catering, audiovisual, and technical services• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to drive business growth and improve services• Develop and manage budgets for events, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness• Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement• Develop and implement operational procedures to ensure efficient and effective event execution• Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement• Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols, as well as local health and sanitation regulationsFinancial & Reporting:• Develop and manage budgets for events, including catering, audiovisual, and technical services. This would involve creating and tracking budgets, identifying areas for cost savings, and making adjustments as needed.• Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast revenue for events and make informed decisions about pricing, staffing, and resources.• Develop and implement pricing strategies for events, taking into account factors such as competition, market conditions, and client needs.• Oversee the management of expenses related to events, including labor costs, equipment rentals, and catering supplies.• Identify areas for cost savings and implement measures to reduce expenses without compromising event quality or guest satisfaction.• Prepare and submit financial reports to senior management and clients, including event profitability reports, revenue forecasts, and budget variance analyses.• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges related to events and make recommendations for improvement.• Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure favourable pricing and terms.• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and policies, including those related to tax reporting, accounting standards, and internal controls.Requirements for this roleSuccessful candidate will have the following attributes:• Proven track record of success in managing large-scale events and leading high-performing teams• Strong understanding of event operations, hospitality standards, and customer service principles• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills• Hands-on, proactive, motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who will support Senior Management Team• Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet multiple deadlines• Flexible in a constantly evolving environment with good proactive problem-solving skillsJob Type: PermanentSalary: €90,000 + 10% bonus scheme based on successful achievement of set KPI’s.What's in it for you?Working with Gather & Gather has its perks!
