DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a best-in-class Capacity Install Technician to work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the installation of our next-generation networks. The candidate will scale support of several data center locations and provide day-to-day assistance with capacity management. The Capacity Install Technician will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth execution of the Rack Installation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system and workflow.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Travel within the geographical work area is required, with up to 80% travel outside the traditional work area.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including network device configuration and low to mid-level application interaction.
- Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
- Complete customer requests via the Remedy trouble ticketing system.
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience in networking
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies
