Day Care Worker - 21 hours p/w Castlerea Day Centre Co. Roscommon, the role also includes Day Care at Home Care Worker (Relief) - Co. Roscommon The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their Carers. A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centered, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their Carer at its core. The ASI is currently recruiting for a part-time Day-Care Worker and Relief Day Care at Home Worker, who will work in our Castlerea Daycare, Ramspark, Co. Roscommon, F45 A621 an in assigned family homes in Co. Roscommon. This is a permanent role working 21 hours per week in the Day Care and relief hours for Day Care at Home, covering the leave of the permanent resource. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Care Worker is responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia, addressing their needs and enhancing their quality of life. To be successful in this role you will need experience of working with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities. FETAC level 5 qualification is desirable but not essential. You will need good communication and organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Salary will be commensurate with the care sector, and dependent on relevant experience. The role holder must strictly adhere to all National Guidelines laid out in QSPD guidance and be always COVID aware. Training in PPE / Infection Control and other relevant areas will be provided by ASI prior.
