Job Description
A high-profile role for a seasoned procurement expert in retail negotiations. Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating and sourcing complex national retail contracts with a purchasing value of over $100m annually.
- Delivering procurement synergies by standardizing efforts, finding opportunities for scale, consolidating vendor partners and distribution points, and promoting business unit marketing refinements.
- Providing strategic and tactical category guidance on key categories based on national trends, internal and external best practice, and company performance objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication processes with senior stakeholders.
- Leading the effort to scale successful regional programs to multi-region or national status.
- Supporting the establishment of national benchmarks, performance markers, and objectives.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Business, or MBA.
- Minimum 5 years of negotiation and contract management experience in a retail environment.
- Multi-unit leadership experience in convenience store merchandising, operations, or related retail with management experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial principles, macroeconomic drivers, and cost drivers.
- Advanced understanding of core marketing principles, including brand development, merchandising, pricing theory, and promotional strategies.
- Experience with market data analysis, interpretation, and research using tools like Power BI.
- Advanced proficiency in Ariba, MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
