Job Summary: To provide exceptional customer service and maintain a clean and safe environment in a catering department, ensuring efficient service delivery and adherence to HACCP guidelines.
The Catering Assistant will report directly to the Programme Manager - Corporate Services and carry out duties assigned to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain clean facilities and a clean work environment in accordance with HACCP requirements.
- Ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Provide exceptional customer service to colleagues, service users, and customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Follow all hygiene guidelines as set out by the relevant authorities and in line with organisational policy.
- Undertake cleaning duties and maintain the highest possible standard of both personal and operational hygiene at all times.
- Prepare and serve refreshments for meetings and functions as required.
- Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained through ongoing monitoring and ordering as required.
- Complete Purchase Order and invoice process on electronic system, liaising with suppliers and finance department as appropriate.
- Ensure correct processing of cash and point of sale reconciliation.
- Carry out designated duties to ensure the smooth and efficient running of assigned work area.
- Participate fully in all relevant training courses.
- Carry out all duties with due care and attention to ensure the safety of all staff, service users, and customers.
- Report any incidents of accident, fire, loss, or damage to management immediately.
Requirements:
- Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
- HACCP experience and qualification desirable.
- Experience working within a catering department or cafe.
- Knowledge of food, food safety, and food preparation.
- Experience working in the intellectual disability sector an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills.
