Your new position: Due to sustained growth across all sectors, this exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Civil Engineer in our Civils / Infrastructure Team. Your new role will involve providing services ranging from feasibility studies to detailed designs through to construction and completion of large national infrastructure projects. You can expect to work on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. Mentoring by assigned members of our Leadership Team will be provided as part of either our Graduate Training Programme or direct mentorship post Chartership. Rapid career progression within an expanding team is possible for successful candidates. Key roles and responsibilities: Your responsibilities in this position will include but not be limited to: * Verbal and written communication skills * An understanding of the fundamentals of civil engineering including the design of drainage, levels, roads, watermains and earthworks * Design principles set out in national / local authority standards and technical guidance documents such as GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, and TII Publications etc * Design and specification of civil engineering materials * Work holistically with a multi-disciplinary team * Ability to interrogate baseline information and prepare innovative, cost effective design solutions for public and private clients using the latest design suites and software applications * Performing site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, answer contractor queries and adherence to specifications * Mentor junior staff in developing their own technical expertise. * Planning and organisational skills * Preparing contract documents for Public Works Contracts and participation in the administration of contracts * An awareness of project and commercial management requirements on large infrastructure projects Desired qualifications and requirements: * Minimum of 4 years' civil engineering experience in the Irish market * Minimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons) and working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent. * A current driver's licence is desirable.
