Job Description

Chartered Civil Engineer sought for large national infrastructure projects, providing services from feasibility studies to construction and completion, with opportunities for rapid career progression.

Our Civils / Infrastructure Team is expanding, and we are looking for a Chartered Civil Engineer to join our team. As a Chartered Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for providing services ranging from feasibility studies to detailed designs through to construction and completion of large national infrastructure projects. You will work on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors, and will have the opportunity to work holistically with a multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of civil engineering, including design of drainage, levels, roads, watermains and earthworks
  • Design principles set out in national / local authority standards and technical guidance documents
  • Design and specification of civil engineering materials
  • Work holistically with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to interrogate baseline information and prepare innovative, cost-effective design solutions
  • Performing site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to specifications
  • Mentor junior staff in developing their technical expertise
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Preparing contract documents for Public Works Contracts and participation in the administration of contracts
  • Awareness of project and commercial management requirements on large infrastructure projects

Desired qualifications and requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years' civil engineering experience in the Irish market
  • Minimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons) and working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent
  • Current driver's licence is desirable
