Summary: Performs complex technical work under broad supervision and guidelines. Provides chemical and materials expertise to support medical device operations.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies technical techniques, procedures, and criteria with some judgment.
- Investigates technical variables in completing assignments with clear objectives.
- Develops test methods to verify chemical and materials technologies.
- Designs and develops test methods to predict performance of polymeric materials.
- Provides chemical and polymeric materials support for product refinement and troubleshooting.
- Researches new materials technologies for cost reductions, performance improvements, and new products.
- Works with customers to develop needed materials.
- Evaluates work results and recommends courses of action.
- Works independently on standard projects with assistance on unusual problems.
Requires education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
