The Mercy University Hospital Foundation is now seeking a CEO with significant senior management experience within the not-for-profit sector. Organisation: Mercy University Hospital Foundation Title: CEO Contract: Full-time, permanent Location:This role is located at the Foundation office in Cork city. While occasional remote working can be facilitated, this is a key public-facing, leadership role that requires visibility and presence in the office, Hospital, and Cancer Care Centre, as well as around Cork, so it will be important that the successful candidate is happy to be based in the office full-time. About our client: Since 2007, the Mercy University Hospital Foundation has been working with its donors and supporters to provide life-enhancing and life-saving support to the Mercy University Hospital (MUH) and its patients. The Foundation is responsible for developing philanthropic, corporate and community partnerships and encouraging charitable donations from the public towards the work being carried out in MUH. Funds raised through the Foundation are used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, to support leading edge research, to enhance and develop services, and to help MUH staff in providing exceptional patient care and service in a leading Irish hospital. About the role: The Mercy University Hospital Foundation is now seeking a CEO with significant senior management experience within the not-for-profit sector, ideally with a strong background in healthcare or a related field, to lead its committed, passionate team. The new CEO will build on the significant achievements of previous CEO, Micheal Sheridan , RIP, who joined the Foundation in 2007 as its first employee, and subsequently led the foundation to become one of the leading hospital foundations in the country. The ideal candidate will be capable of crafting and executing long-term strategic plans while demonstrating commercial acumen, particularly in financial management and fundraising. They must excel in communication and storytelling, representing the Foundation across various platforms and engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Board, donors, and healthcare professionals. Leadership is crucial, with a focus on inspiring teams, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s values and goals.
