Working Hours: The core working hours of attendance will be 35 hours per week. There is however flexibility around this upon request depending on departmental suitability. Meet your potential employer: Charlene Cooke Healthcare Recruitment is thrilled to collaborate with a well-established and highly respected hospital in Dublin to recruit a Chief GI Physiologist.This is a unique opportunity to join Ireland's largest Endoscopy unit.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the ongoing success of the departments dedicated to growth and exceptional patient care. Reporting: To the Head of the Department. The successful candidate will join a newly established department, utilising cutting-edge technology and systems. You will collaborate with highly skilled Physiologists in a workplace known for its inclusive, efficient, innovative, and collaborative culture. Your new company: A well established and highly respected hospital known for its commitment to excellence, has recently constructed a purpose-built Endoscopy recently built a purpose built Endoscopy unit. What you'll need to succeed: To be competent to carry out High Resolution Oesophageal Manometry To be competent to carry out 24 hour pH & Impedance Studies To be competent to carry out High Resolution Anorectal Manometry. You must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating clinical expertise and effective decision-making skills in providing specialist care and support to patients with complex conditions. Key Responsibilities: Your main responsibility will involve performing diagnostic GI Physiological investigations and supporting the daily operations of the Unit. Additionally, you will assist in coordinating and advancing service development, and actively participate in education, audit, and research initiatives. Perform diagnostic tests according to departmental policies, promptly reporting any abnormal results and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Execute GI physiology tests with a strict adherence to safety protocols and departmental standards. Conduct routine calibration, quality control checks, and preventive maintenance procedures. Administer local anesthetic (Lidocaine spray) as required for tests within the department. Prepare patients for procedures by obtaining medical histories, interpreting request forms, explaining procedures, and providing reassurance. Ensure equipment is operational and promptly report faults to suppliers for repair or replacement as directed. Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Eligibility Criteria: Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin (TUD) (formerly DIT) or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiologists (IICMP).Or Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Technological University Dublin (TUD) (formerly DIT) Or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiologists (IICMP). Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiologists (IICMP) Competent in performing High Resolution Oesophageal Manometry, 24-hour pH & Impedance Studies Competent in performing High Resolution Anorectal Manometry. Skilled in evaluating GI Physiology traces and results. Proficient in producing diagnostic reports Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills. Accurate and methodical approach.
