HSE Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

As a specialist service, we in Linn Dara CAMHS are committed to continually innovate and strive to make a difference for those accessing our services. We aim to serve the people attending our services with safe and compassionate care. Our mission within the Linn Dara CAMHS teams is to make a difference for those attending our services. This means that everything we do and through every service we provide, we want to make a positive difference in people's lives.

Linn Dara CAMHS actively encourages and supports continual professional development as well as extensive access to rewarding career pathways. Linn Dara CAMHS provides specialist mental health services to those aged 17 and under who have a moderate, severe, or complex mental illness that requires the input of a multi-disciplinary team.

Current services are delivered via community CAMHS teams, Specialist Teams, Pathways, or in our Inpatient unit (Approved Centre).

Our Core Community CAMHS teams are as follows:

  • Clondalkin CAMHS (Ronanstown, Clondalkin, Newcastle, Saggart)
  • Ballyfermot CAMHS (Ballyfermot, Kilmainham, Dolphins Barn, Palmerstown)
  • Lucan CAMHS (Lucan, Adamstown, Ballyowen)
  • North Kildare CAMHS (Celbridge, Leixlip, Maynooth)
  • East Kildare CAMHS (Sallins, Naas, Kilcullen)
  • South Kildare / West Wicklow CAMHS (Athy, Baltinglass, Rathdangan, Hollywood)

Our Targeted Specialist Teams / Pathways:

  • SYSTEMIC FAMILY THERAPY
  • ADMiRE – ADHD Pathway
  • Community Eating Disorder Service
  • CAMHS-ID (Dublin)
  • DBT

Linn Dara Approved Centre

Linn Dara Approved Centre provides specialist inpatient services for severe and complex mental illness in children and young people, including 14 acute/emergency inpatient beds, 8 specialist Tier 4 eating disorder beds, and a 2-bedded High Dependency Unit.

Future Expansion of services for staff working in Linn Dara CAMHS includes opportunities in the following areas:

20 bedded unit in the National Children's Hospital (Acute-Emergency, Specialist Eating Disorder Beds, and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry).
