Community Healthcare West is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist, Clinical Specialist to join the Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team, providing evidence-based, person-centered speech and language therapy services.
**Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist, Clinical Specialist** **Location: Galway, Ireland** **Job Type: Full-time, Permanent** The Speech and Language Therapist, Clinical Specialist will be responsible for delivering a high-quality speech and language therapy service to clients in a community setting. The successful candidate will possess advanced clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills, and evidence-based practice. **Key Responsibilities:** * Identify and prioritize client requirements in a constantly changing environment * Maintain professional standards through clinical audit, supervision, and training * Operate within the scope of Speech and Language Therapy practice as per CORU requirements * Stay up-to-date with research and practice developments in relevant clinical areas * Assess and prioritize clients according to clinical needs using clinical reasoning skills **Eligibility Criteria:** * Registration as a Speech and Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU * 5 years full-time (or equivalent) years post-qualification clinical experience in the required area of specialism * Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism * Evidence of dysphagia qualification or equivalent * Experience in conducting, interpreting, and reporting instrumental swallowing assessments **Skills and Competencies:** * Advanced level of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills, and evidence-based practice * Willingness to engage and develop IT skills relevant to the role
