Job Description
Site Engineers and Site Technicians required for drainage and flood risk management projects in the South West Region of Ireland. The role involves managing day-to-day activities of a direct labour workforce and specialist sub-contractors.
The successful candidate will have a Level 7 degree in Civil Engineering, 3 years experience with a main contractor, and excellent communication, problem-solving and IT skills. The right to work in the EU is also required.
The role requires the management of the day-to-day activities of a direct labour workforce of up to 20 personnel and specialist sub-contractors. Key responsibilities include:
- Organisation, direction and supervision of project construction and maintenance
- Production of method statements and risk assessments
- Setting out, including levelling and total-station work
- Assisting in the assessment of Section 50 and Minor Works applications
- Monitoring the works and ensuring they are carried out in accordance with design drawings and specification
- Managing the Quality Assurance file, including concrete QA, earthworks QA and survey QA
- Investigation and reporting on matters arising from project construction and maintenance
- Liaising with other public bodies, local authorities and local organisations
- Implementing QA procedures and managing sub-contractors
- Disseminating information from drawings, specifications and technical drawings
- Providing assistance with the procurement of goods and services
- Attending site meetings and liaising with the local authority and stakeholders
- Preparing and maintaining accurate site reports and records
- Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of project documentation
- Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant software tools
- Providing guidance and technical support to construction teams and subcontractors
- Implementing company health, safety, environmental and quality policies
The initial contract will be for a 12 month period, with a strong chance of being made permanent. The working hours will be from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with occasional working outside these hours as business need dictates.
