Job Summary: Technical Support Specialist for Renewable Energy Projects
Provide technical support to project management, electrical engineering, and civil engineering teams on renewable energy projects during planning, pre-construction, and construction stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with desktop studies of proposed and existing wind farm, solar farm, battery storage, and substation projects.
- Prepare tenders and specifications for engineering contracts for renewable energy projects.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of construction works.
- Review designs of civil and structural engineering elements of renewable energy projects.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory bodies.
- Support with preparation of civil engineering, site layout, and route survey drawings.
- Provide support with health and safety and quality documentation.
- Assist with project cost estimates and tendering for design services.
- Build knowledge of industry activity, relevant legislation, and regulations.
- Participate in CPD courses and engage with industry contractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
- Education to degree level (minimum Level 8) in civil engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience in civil engineering roles.
- Civil engineering experience of renewable energy or civil engineering infrastructure projects.
- Working towards chartered membership of a professional body.
- Hold a current driving licence.
- Safe Pass and manual handling training.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and flexibly within a small team environment.
