Claims Handler Job Description

Efficiently handle and settle claims within designated authority and agreed service standards, providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handle claims from notification to closure, obtaining optimum settlement for the company and customer.
  • Assist management team in monitoring workflow, outstanding caseloads, and processes.
  • Provide technical advice to customers, loss adjusters, and solicitors.
  • Authorise claims payments within agreed authority levels.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Consumer Protection Code and Data Protection requirements.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP) in General Insurance.
  • Claims handling expertise, ideally with a minimum of two years handling motor damage claims.
  • Excellent interpersonal, numerical, and communication skills.
  • Drive for results, innovation, and change orientation.
  • Planning, co-ordination, and organising skills.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
  • High standards in all areas.
  • Team building and team player skills.
