Job Summary: O'Hara's of Foxford seeks a diligent and detail-oriented Cleaner to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across our food manufacturing facility.
The Cleaner will play a crucial role in ensuring that our site meets the strict sanitation and safety standards required in food production, contributing to the overall quality of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Cleaning & Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitise all production areas, equipment, and machinery used in food preparation.
- Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors, ensuring the facility is free of debris, spills, and hazards.
- Clean walls, ceilings, and surfaces in compliance with food safety standards.
- Remove waste and recycling materials, ensuring disposal procedures are followed.
- Equipment Cleaning:
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of production machinery and tools after each shift or production cycle.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is used correctly and safely, following operational guidelines.
- Hygiene & Sanitation Compliance:
- Maintain strict hygiene practices in line with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all cleaning is completed according to the company's cleaning schedule and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with deep cleaning activities as part of a regular maintenance program.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate cleaning logs and checklists, ensuring records are up-to-date and available for audits.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or contamination risks to the supervisor immediately.
- Health & Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with all food safety and hygiene policies to prevent contamination of food products.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in cleaning, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, and cleaning protocols in a food production setting.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow strict hygiene and cleaning standards, ensuring that all areas are thoroughly sanitised.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Punctuality: Reliable and able to meet deadlines for cleaning schedules.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Knowledge of specific food safety regulations related to the bakery or food production industry.
Working Hours:
- Shifts may vary depending on the production schedule. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends is required.
