Role Summary Clid Housing is currently seeking applicants for the role of Chief Finance Officer ("CFO"). The CFO is responsible for providing strategic financial direction and leadership of the financial functions within Clid, ensuring that financial activity supports the organisation's objectives. The CFO acts as a strategic partner within Clid, enabling the Corporate Plan while driving financial competence and continuous improvement. The Chief Finance Office comprises of the following teams: Finance Operations, Corporate Finance & Treasury, Procurement; Risk & Assurance. Key Responsibilities The role of CFO will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Strategic Financial Partnership Lead the financial affairs of Clid Housing, reporting on financial performance to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure Clid is financially sustainable through strategic business planning. Collaborate across the business to deliver strategic objectives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with funding partners, government departments and other stakeholders. Embed a culture of value for money. Ensure governance and compliance with fiduciary obligations. Financial Operations Implement efficient financial systems to support transactions and operational objectives. Prepare and forecast financial outcomes to ensure effective business planning. Maintain and update financial procedures and processes, ensuring best practices. Foster and maintain a robust financial control environment and compliance with tax regulations. Develop and maintain an ESG strategy and reporting framework. Corporate Finance & Treasury Develop and embed annual and long-term operating models, including financial budgeting and variance reporting. Ensure processes and resources support financial viability assessments. Collaborate with teams to manage existing and support the development of new business initiatives. Monitor financial KPIs and manage assets and balance sheet structure. Oversee cash management and forecasting functions. Ensure adequate credit and banking facilities. Identify new funding sources for housing delivery. Manage loan portfolio and ensure compliance with lending covenants. Procurement Develop and deliver the Procurement Strategy and report on procurement performance and outcomes. Advance procurement processes and ensure regulatory compliance. Risk Management and Governance Lead risk management and assurance, overseeing the embedding of a culture of risk awareness within Clid Oversight of the Internal Audit workplan and reporting to ARC. Ensure effective governance structures and review delegations and approval levels. Leadership and Collaboration Manage the CFO area, ensuring employee development and efficient use of resources. Foster an inclusive workplace and support team engagement and development. Embed the business partnering mindset and objectives within the team. Provide financial counsel to the CEO and Executive Team. Advise the Board on financial matters and support the Chair of Clid's Audit and Risk Committee. Develop and foster relationships with Audit and Risk Committee and Board members. The Person The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a continuous improvement ethos, be competent and confident in their decision-making, as well as having a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. They will be comfortable operating in a changing environment and have proven experience of leading during periods of transition and transformation. Essential Requirements The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate evidence of: A degree in a related discipline and/or relevant professional qualifications An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA) Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated relevant experience in a senior finance role Proven experience in developing Finance Policy and Strategy, with experience of financial control and budget management, as well as corporate finance Experience of advising and presenting at Senior Executive and Board levels Demonstrated understanding of process improvement and change management Experience in performance management and business partnering Proven experience of Value for Money Reporting Desirable Attributes The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate evidence of: Experience in property or housing sectors Excellent communication and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify solutions Ability to prioritise and manage workloads and to cope with conflicting demands.
