Job Description
We are seeking a Climbing Wall Instructor to join our team at West Wood Club. The successful candidate will have a passion for climbing and teaching others, with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. They will provide instruction on climbing techniques in a fun and safe environment, and encourage members to push their personal comfort zones and physical fitness. The role will involve evening and weekend work and may require occasional availability outside of normal hours. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working in a climbing wall, a Climbing Wall Instructor award, and good communication skills. They will also be able to articulate climbing knowledge in an understandable way and demonstrate a positive, friendly and professional manner at all times.
- Monitor the rock wall area to ensure the safety of all climbers.
- Provide general instruction on climbing techniques in a fun, enthusiastic, and safe environment for members of all ages and abilities.
- Maintain and store equipment at the end of each day.
- Train new climbs on the wall.
- Set new climbs on the wall.
Benefits include free gym membership and climbing wall access. The successful candidate will be CWI/RCI qualified and have a minimum of 2 years climbing experience. First Aid and Child Protection training would be an advantage.
