Job Summary:
Manage a portfolio of clinical claims against the State under the Clinical Indemnity Scheme, investigating and evaluating each claim, and proposing approaches for investigation and resolution.
About the Role:
The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) is seeking a Clinical Claims Manager to join its team. The NTMA provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government, and the Clinical Claims Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clinical claims against the State.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate each claim assigned, and propose approaches for investigation and resolution.
- Liaise with solicitors and other third parties to seek guidance on the most appropriate approach to each claim.
- Select solicitors, barristers, and experts for each case, and attend meetings with hospitals and health agencies.
- Ensure timely processing of all claims, and ensure documentation is accurate.
- Act as a daily contact for hospitals and other health agencies assigned to provide advice and guidance on issues pertinent to the Clinical Indemnity Scheme.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in clinical claims/litigation.
- Proven track record in medical defence litigation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Legal or ACII qualification.
